Clark State Wins 6th Straight in Blowout Win; Lady Eagles Grab Win Behind 34-Point Performance From Marshall

 CLARK STATE TEAMS HANDLES BUSINESS IN LORAIN

The Clark State basketball teams went on the road and handled business as they took out Lorain CC and won the doubleheader.

Here's the Headlines and  recap of both games.

Men's Winning Streak Moves to 6 After Blowout Win;

Masteller Drops 35

In what could be seen as their best game of the season, the Eagles shot lights out and defended early and often to roll past Lorain 113-73 to move their record to 13 - 10 on the season and 5-5 in the OCCAC.

Isiaiah Masteller, a  first team All-OCCAC and All- Region selection last year, had a season high of 35 points to lead all scorers. He's found his groove and the team is playing on another level because of it.

The Eagles had 6 players in double figures - including two players off the bench.  Miller (17), Mensah (16), Thompson (11) Banks (11), Ali (12)  all contributed heavily to the win.

"We are hitting on all cylinders right now." Head Coach Quinton Alstork stated.

This sets up the huge rematch between Edison State this week, as both teams sit in the middle of the OCCAC, trying to possibly grab that 3rd position as we hit the final few weeks of the regular season.

"Will be a crazy atmosphere for that game. We hope the city of Springfield will come out and support a rising, winning program." Alstork stated.

The game will be at 7pm at Clark State.

LADIES DOMINATE EARLY AS THEY GRAB A ROAD WIN;

LAILA MARSHALL GOES WILD FOR 34

The Clark State women's team rode the hot hand of Laila Marshall as the Lady Eagles won 83-67.

With the win the Lady Eagles look to get on a winning streak as they will face Edison State Wednesday night.

Marshall, who was recruited by multiple D-1s in High School, hit six 3-point shots en route to a monster night. She also had 7 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 assists in the win. But she had help, which

Ariel Grace (16), Damysia Knox (15) also had good scoring games in the win. Womens' Head Coach Anthony Almond was pleased with the win, and hopes they can continue the trend.
