Dayton 24-7 Partnering Station to Cover Indiana Fever, WNBA Games

Dayton 24-7 Partnering Station to Cover Indiana Fever, WNBA Games

The "Caitlyn Clark Effect" Continues

By Deon Cash

In some huge news around the Dayton & WNBA globe, Fox Dayton will get a chance to cover some WNBA games in the 2024 season.

Dayton 24-7's partnering station (MyTV Dayton) will be showing a bevy of Indiana Fever games over the course of the season, per info from Dayton 24-7.

The contract comes as the arrival of Caitlyn Clark to Indiana, which has caused a major uptick in hype, a boost in women's hoops, and has brought major coverage from all over the country.

Clark's Final Four games were the most watched tournament games in ESPN history.

Clark seems to have a "Larry Bird Effect", in meaning that we are seeing a college player literally change the way a whole league functions.

Bird and Magic did it in the 80s with the NBA, and were seeing it happen with the WNBA with Clark and the "Bayou Barbie" turned Chicago Sky Face of the franchise in Angel Reese.

After the first game, Dallas was sold out and the ratings were through the roof.

And it's not just Caitlyn Clark who has the league buzzing.

Angel Reese also provided some serious star power as the Chicago Sky team will be on TV after their first preseason game was watched online by millions of viewers.

With that being said, the time is now to jump on the bandwagon, and Fox has agreed to jump in on the deal.

Stay tuned and check out MyTV Dayton for the upcoming schedule for the Indiana Fever games.

The Fever first and only official pre-season home game is Thursday vs the Atlanta Dream (7pmET).
