Pirates Stop Piqua to Win 2nd Game of Season

 The West Carrollton Pirates used their inside play and defense to stop Piqua in a home game by the score of 43-34 Tuesday night. 

With the win West Carrollton moves to 2-0 on the season.  

Senior guard and 2-sport star Antonio Robinson led the team with 15 points, 5 steals and 8 assists while All-State Junior F Chylan Ingram had 13 points, 7 rebounds & 5 blocks to enforce that stifling interior defense that the Pirates have this season. 

The Pirates hadn't played a game in over 10 days, as the 2nd game of the season was postponed due to Fairborn having an flu and covid outbreak recently. 

"It felt good to get a win in front of our home crowd today. And it also felt good to get back on the court after having time off." Head Coach Anthony Parker stated.  

This is a big week, so this is a good start for us." 

The Pirates will play Friday night in Sidney before travleing to Cleveland to play in the HS Showcase on the Cavaliers floor for a 3rd straight season.

 Clark State Women Look To Win 3rd Straight Depsite Shorthandedness Tonight 

The Clark State Womens team is sitting at 6-4 after  consecutive wins in this roller coaster of a season so far for Coach Steinke and his girls team.

They started off 4-0, then lost 4 straight. Now after big wins over Miami Middletown and Findlay JV, the Lady Eagles will face UC Clermont at home for a chance to win its 3rd straight. 

However the Lady Eagles will be without some players, and even a coach, as injuries and the winter season has touched the Lady Eagles. 

"Will be tough game vs Clermont tonight, but the girls are ready for the challenge." Coach Steinke said. 

Steinke knows that if somehow they can win this game, it puts them back in the OCCAC race and sits them at 7-4.
