Carlos knox, who was recently named the interim head coach of the Indiana Fever, was able to get his first win as a head coach in the WNBA on arguably the most emotional night of his career.

Knox was a legend in high school, but even more at IUPUI, where he was the all-time leading scorer in the program history.

So the school decided to give him his flowers and retire his jersey, on the day that he would coach his first game in the WNBA ranks.

"Just blessed to be able to have these opportunities after all the hard work I put in over the years."

Knox would say after a amazing night, including a exciting, gritty,Carlos Knox-type of win over the L.A Sparks in front of the home fans.

With that win it improved the Fever to 3-7, and keeping them in the playoff race, as they trail the Atlanta Dream for that 4th playoff spot in the East.

The energy was crazy, and everyone seems to really like "Coach Los" and want him to succeed as the leader of the team. He has trained some of the WNBA elite ballers, so he has a great connect with his players.

And he wont sugarcoat it, so you have to respect his no-nonsense philosophy, which most ballers always do.

FEVER FALL IN KNOX 2ND GAME COACHING;  HEAD ON CRUCIAL ROAD TRIP

The Fever got out to a great start against one of the early favorites to get a WNBA Title, in the Washington Mystics. With Kelsey Mitchell having a great 1st half, the Fever were up 6 at half and had the momentum. After a NaLyssa Smith bucket,  the Fever held their biggest lead of the 2nd half and game.

But the Mystics defense dominated the 2nd half, and the Fever offense went cold, shooting 5-20 in the game changing 3rd quarter.

"I thought they did a good job or playing with more intensity in the second half, and we did not match that." Knox would say in the press conference.

While the Fever are at 3-8 look for a run to get back in playoff contention as they embark on a crucial 3- game road trip.

Good Luck to Coach Knox and the Fever on this road trip and salute a guy who never complained and worked his way up, and now will show his value as a elite motivator and coach.
