Dayton Hoop Legend & Head Coach Tamika Williams-Jeter Bares All After 1st Season With Lady Flyers

Dayton Hoop Legend & Head Coach Tamika Williams-Jeter Bares All After 1st Season With Lady Flyers

Dayton 24-7 Now Sports Podcast Exclusive Interview

“It Was Hard Losing, But It Wasn’t As Hard to Lose This Season. We Were Extremely Young. We Will Be Ready Next Season.”

By Deon Cash

Tamika Williams-Jeter is a winner by every stretch of the word and  imagination.

She won Championship titles in high school, college, the Olympics and the WNBA. She won as a Assistant Coach during all of her tenures. She’s winning with her family, kids, and day to day life as well.

So when she took over as the Head Coach of the Dayton Flyers Women’s Basketball team last season with the most inexperienced team in the A-10? It was a welcome surprise for the Flyer Faithful, despite one of the toughest seasons in her basketball life.

Williams-Jeter bares it all in a riveting and hilarious interview that shows a different side of Williams-Jeter. While she was a bully on the court during her time, she often comes off like that off the court as well, with a intimidating but quiet presence.

After all, Williams-Jeter stands at a towering 6’2. Without heels.

That is, until you meet her and talk to her.

Then you truly start to understand why she is probably the greatest female baller to come out of Dayton, Ohio.

Williams-Jeter talks about the mentally tough first season running the show at UD, and how she and the Flyers were prepared for it. She also talks about the new recruits coming, and how it was emotionally for her in the most losing season of her life.

But the intrigue doesn’t stop there.

Williams-Jeter gives a unbelievable take on the UConn - Ohio State women’s tournament game and how OSU star freshman Cotie McMahon and her mother talked before the game.

She talked about how Geno Auriemma would see things differently in one of the craziest seasons of his career and what he called and said to her.

She talks about the Kaitlyn Clark - Angel Reese story and her take on Clark way before anyone knew who she even was.

What did Tamika Williams-Jeter say about Clark and Reese drama?

She talks LeBron, NBA, Cavs, WNBA, Rylee Sagester, and even cracks jokes throughout the podcast (Dayton24-7Now Sports Podcast).

This shows that Williams-Jeter is in it for the long haul, and that’s good for the Dayton faithful who knew how great she was coming from the gem city.
