With a plethora of star studded events last weekend, here were the big events and how they turned out after a wet weekend of rain and clouds. However that didn’t stop no shows as mostly everything, save baseball, was able to continue. Here were the events and how they did:
“CHILD SUPPORT” SHOWCASE DRAWS RAVE REVIEWS IN DETROIT, DAYTON
Jason Hampton, known as Jason DBKS, put together another top notch showing as he used the Neon Theatre to drop his second major movie. DBKS created Got My Hustle Up, which is one of the best independent films in 2020, garnering nominations all over the country for the movie, which featured stars such as Jamal “Gravy" Woolard, who played “Biggie Smalls" in the B.I.G. story, hilarious comedian Michael Blackson, Bambi Johnson from Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, Artist Murda Pain and the Double Dose Twins as well. The film was highly acclaimed and helped setup the 2nd major indie film DBKS is dropping.
“Child Support” centers around Hampton and the lifelong struggle he has had with the entire system as he tried to navigate his way towards happiness and financial freedom.
On his journey he runs into some characters along the way. He also runs into some key issues, that help explain the story and DBKS does a good job of keeping you into the movie in narrator mode in key times, similar to the way Ice Cube would tell the story in his infamous Friday trilogy.
With another cast of stars such as Faizon Love (Big Worm in Friday), Bizzy Bone (Bone Thugs and Harmony) and Michael Blackson, and a appearance from partner in crime Boo Pac?
This could be the Cartoon of the Year, as Hampton continues to take himself, his company, and the entire city of Dayton to new levels when it comes to entertainment and bringing the superstars to Dayton.
“I Just love puttin’ on for my city, and I love the support we getting. We want to thank everyone for all the love. We gone keep working and keep bringing top stars to Dayton.” DBKS said.
Look for more dates for CHILD SUPPORT to be premiered. Make no mistake, this movie has all the makings to go mainstream, and stay there, along with DBKS and his team. Follow Jason DBKS and us on the journey!

BOWTILLION BRINGS OUT THE BEST AS LANE BRINGS ELITE EVENT BACK
The Bowtillion, which is one of the Elite Social events in Dayton, was at it again last weekend as Ronnell Lane, one of the elite barbers in the country, hosted his Annual event in downtown Dayton.
Bowtillion CEO Ronnell LaneThe event has grown every year, and unfortunately was cancelled last year due to Covid-19. With restrictions being loosened up due to available vaccinations, Lane would decide to bring back the event, in which it would not disappoint.
With hundreds of professionals and socialites there, it was a elite and beautiful event. With live music, great dancing, and Covid-19 rules in tact, people were having a glorius time once again. With everything that has happened in the last couple years, Lane was happy and blessed to be able to bring it back.
With bowties all over the place in a variety of styles, it was pretty dope to see all the different styles that was displayed. Not to mention the elegance of the ladies who were dressed in all types of dresses and styles, with nothing but smiles on the faces of mostly everyone in attendance.
“It was good to bring it back after everything that happened last year, with our shop being destroyed by the Tornadoes, and Covid-19 shutting us down. I’d like to truly thank everyone who attended or supported the event.” Lane said.
While there is no exact time on when Lane will bring his barber shop back, you can expect it to be top notch, as Lane always handles his business with class and great execution, similar to the way he cuts hair.
Lane labels his cuts “Masterpieces” which makes sense as he provides one of the great experiences in getting your haircut. Congrats to Lane and hia team on bringing the Bowtillion back.

HOSKINS FIRST AAU TOURNEY BRINGS TOP LADIES TEAMS OUT; “IM BLESSED"
Brandie Hoskins, the former WNBA player and C-J legend, hosted her first ever basketball tournament last weekend at Bales Arena in Beavercreek, Ohio.
With over 50 teams at the event, it was a huge success for Hoskins and her team.
“It was a honor to host my own Basketball Tourney" Hoskins stated. I feel blessed to be able to do this. We were disappointed that we couldn’t finish the tournament but I didn’t want nobody to get hurt.
Due to the humidity in the gym, (causing much more slicker courts) we felt like that was the best decision for all involved. We don’t want to see anyone getting injured at our event. As far as the competition, we were very happy with the teams who showed up and the level they were playing at.”
There were many of the top programs there throughout Ohio, as the ladies went at it on Friday and Saturday. With grades ranging from middle school up, there was some very good talent on display.
The event was very competitive and professionally ran, and that would be evident in the fact that they would decide on Saturday to halt the final day of the tournament as the hoop floors took a steep turn for the worse after the major outpour of rain this weekend.
Hoskins has said that she has a few other big things in the works as she continues to create great opportunities for young ladies in Southwest Ohio. Hoskins is affiliated with the GBA, and you can look for another camp, league, or tournament to happen soon.
Hoskins does weekly individual and group trainings as well, which are well documented and posted for development purposes. Check out Hoskins' social media for more information on her next moves.

OBA LEAGUE OPENS WITH SUCCESSFUL WEEKEND
The OBA League came out strong with a great weekend of Professional Hoops all over the country.
25 games were played last weekend, and it was a huge success as 50 teams laced up to start a new season. Tamara Moore, the CEO of the OBA, has shown her intensity and grind in the recent weeks as the league neared the season opening weekend.
All of her hard work came to fruition as teams in 4 different divisions from all parts of the country battled it out.
“We are very happy with the launch of the new season. There are some things we need to clean up, but overall, we are very pleased with the first weekend.” Moore would say.
With a rock solid committee, a dedicated and very good commissioner (Gary Rima), and quality owners who care about their communitites, Moore has pushed the League to heights very few organizations can match, in any sport.
Two of the Ohio teams battled in Cincinnati, as the Cincinnati Movement faced the Cleveland Blazers. Cleveland won the season opener, as they used a balanced effort to get it done.
The League will last for 3-4 months, culminating in a Championship Showcase down in Orlando, Florida which will also have a All-Star game to go with the Championship.
