Easter Steals The Show as Boozer Twins Fall on Their Birthday; Peterson a "No Show?" At Peach Jam

Jerry Easter Steals The Show as Boozer Twins Fall on Their Birthday; Peterson a "No Show?" At Peach Jam

By Deon Cash

Jerry Easter II, one of the best high school players in the country, bar none, just did the unthinkable:

He knocked off the top ranked and undefeated giants in the most prestigous AAU circuit in the country.

But here's the even more crazy part: He did it without the supposedly top recruit in Ohio. On the #1 and #2 players birthday to add insult to injury.

Easter, who was a late addition to the New Jersey Scholars roster, was in "Penny Hardaway" Mode all night, as he was dishing dimes, playing suffocating defense and hitting timely shots to keep the Scholars in the game in the famous EYBL Peach Jam youth basketball circuit in Atlanta, Georgia.

They were taking on the #1 and #2 Ranked players in the class of 2025 in the Boozer twins, sons of NBA vet Carlos Boozer. Their squad are the Nightrydas in the AAU circuit, and they were undefeated before taking on Easter and the Scholars.

While the Boozer twins showed why they will be top 10 picks in the NBA one day, Easter put the Scholars on his back for a triple double (18pts, 11 reb, 12 dimes) and finished off the Nightrydas unlike any opponent they had ever seen in front of a barrage of media and influencers for ESPN and other national ranking publications and gurus.

And while Peterson was supposed to show up to play with Easter II in the huge matchup, for some reason, he didn't.

For Easter, it was just another win.

"Yeah, Yeah" he exclaimed after the game in the hotel room, making it seem like it was no big deal.

If you knew Easter, you'd know he's a humble kid, but the inner competitor always comes out in the game, as his mom and dad have made sure he doesn't get complacent.  Trena Easter, Jerry's mom, hooped for Michigan in her hoop years.

But his demeanor will also help him continue to be great, even at this age.

We could be watching the next great Ohio high school player, since LeBron James. While some think it will be Peterson, others are realizing Easter is much, much better than the #27 ranking ESPN slapped on him after saying they hadn't seen enough on him to rank him higher. Peterson was ranked #4. When Easter seen the rankings, he didn't get upset.

He just went back to his work regimen, which is second to none.

So when he would get the call that this team needed him to compete with the top team in the country? No sweat for Easter. He's been prepared for this.

And as for the proposed experts who once said "He's good" but not good enough for Top 10?

"He's the real deal." were the reports from not only ESPN, but from the crowd, and everyone else, including DeJuan Wagner Jr, as he witnessed the dominance of Easter. So much so, they took a dope photo shot after the game. Easter is already focused on the next couple games as he wants to make the playoffs.

We said it 2 years ago, and we will say it again.

Jerry Easter II is the best player in the class of 2025.

And don't ask us. Ask Penny Hardaway, who literally just offered Easter adding to his already growing list of top programs who have offered the Toledo, Ohio native. Easter has almost 20 offers already, including UCLA, Ohio State, Cincinnati, and now Memphis.

Stay tuned for the Jerry Easter show at the Peach Jam, and look for more stars to come and watch the next great hooper from Ohio this week.

Heeeeeeeeeeere's Jerry!
