Jackson Carman, while entrenched in OTAs and the playbook in his first season with the Cincinnati Bengals, decided to make a quick trip down to his old stomping grounds to inject some real knowledge and energy into the Wee Lions and Meadowdale HS team for the upcoming football season.

Carman would speak candidly to the Lions and chat with Meadowdale Varsity football Coach Earl White and the coaching staff on his visit yesterday.

                Lions Assistant Coach Doug Spears

As the season nears Coach White and his elite staff get ready to try to turn around their 3rd City League program in the last 25 years, which would be a remarkable feat in itself.

During Jacksons’ speech, the Lions were locked in.

“Nobody can tell you what you are thinking. Be who you are.” Carman said. “Nobody will tell you to do that extra rep. You have to be disciplined within yourself enough to do the extra work.” Carman stated to the young Lions, who seemed to really soak up the experience with open eyes, ears, and minds.

In a late conversation between Coach White and Carman, his love for the program was evident.

Coach White started on his speech: “We really appreciate you coming to talk to the kids. White then tells his team, “He (Carman) didn’t have to do anything for this organization….” in which Carman would interject to speak.

“I want to be able to give back to the organization that helped me get there. Coach Gil, coach Spears, and that staff really helped me get to this level, and I will always give back to the Lions organization.

Coach Gil taught me a lot and I will always honor that.”

Carman would take some photos afterwards, then would head back to Cincinnati after doing a exclusive interview with D.Cash of fast rising  S.E.Live365 (Fox Sports Dayton / IHeartRadio).
