Major boxing event jumps off tonight in Dayton for first time in over 25 years

In one of the biggest sporting events in Dayton in the last 2 decades, "The Awakening" Era is goin' down tonight.

 
    Ignited by CEO Milt Pearson, the Awakening is a series of boxing matches featuring some the best young talent in the sport of boxing in the Midwest.

   Pearson, combined with his son Chris Pearson, to put on the event in Dayton.

  Both are extremely excited for this event, and knows what this could mean for the 937.
 
   Not to mention with young, hungry, buzzing boxers like Will "Knockout" Clemons, Jeff Camp, & Javar Jones leading this first boxing event in Dayton?
  Should be a epic night.

With all 3 gaining major consideratio
from the Money Mayweather team, it's safe to say that Floyd will be paying attention this event, no matter where he at.

  Now let's talk about the boxers:

 Will "Knockout" Clemons, a Daytonian, has been out in Vegas with the Mayweather team, and it has went well for Clemons. With power, fortitude, charisma, and the ability to attack?

  He is definitely on the rise, and is estactic to be able to fight in front of his home crowd.

  As is Jeff "The Nightmare" Camp.

 Camp, who is also being watched closely by the Money Team as well, is looking to explode onto the scene tonight.
  Camp, has worked hard to get to this point, and ain't worried about Mayweather.
  His focus is primarily on establishing himself tonight in front of his home fans.

 And knocking his opponent out.

And the 3rd premiere boxer on the card, Javar Jones, hails from Indiana, but is also looking to make a name for himself.

  He has been working out of Indianapolis, and has set his sights on stardom as well.
  With a great team in tow, watch out for Jones tonight and in the future.

  As for the Awakening, the reception has been nice, but now is time for the city to show support..

   Chris Pearson, headed for a title himself, has went #AllIn on this event, and hopes that he himself can fight in front of his home crowd in the future.

 For the title? Or a title defense?

"The Problem" Solved; Broner headed toward "Best Pound for Pound" boxer title soon

A couple years ago, Adrien "The Problem" Broner, already a champion, seemed like he was on his way to becoming the best "Pound for Pound" boxer in the world.

Then "The Problem" started having problems. He started losing focus. Less training. More entertainment. More money than he'd ever seen.

Waaaayyy more money = Waaaayyy more distractions = Waaaayyy more problems.

  A millionaire at a young age had gotten to Broner, who had a couple lackluster fights, to say the least.

     Once thought of as the heir to the Money Mayweather throne, now was in a little bit of a spiral. He still remained in the top 10, but was seemingly middling with his God - given ability and hard work he had put in for over a decade. And he was ranked 8th, 9th, where he should have been ranked 1,2, or 3.

At the time, Broner was living it up. A young, black, famous, star athlete from the Nati, with millionaire status, the ability to knock anybody out and a personality to match? Already with titles in hand?
Not hard to see why he had slippage.

Now? He's back in grind mode.

 That was no more evident than what he did to  Khabib Allakhverdiev on Saturday night.

Broner bringin' the pain...

Broner (31-2) came out firing early and often, connected on 50% of his power punches, cut him up early, and finished him off in the 12th on a 4-piece that had the referee calling the fight. Broner badly hurt Khabib in the 6th and the 11th, but he stayed in the fight.

Broner had just done it again, winning his 4th different title in 4 different weight classes- being the first since Oscar DeLaHoya. But while he was happy with his performance, its clear he wants that Pound for Pound title.

It was his best fight in 4 years, and it served notice that Broner is back. When he spoke, he talked about being a little immature and not dealing properly with the luxurious life that comes with the territory.

But like the bully Damon said in the classic movie, Friday after Next, "We all grown up now."

And so is Broner.

And you got a feel of that throughout his pre, and post- fight situations. His powerful display showed up in the ring too.
 
 Now with Mayweather in his ear even more, you can expect the charismatic Broner to move back up the charts, make sound decisions, work harder than he ever has, and maybe climb to a spot he could have never reached a couple years ago.
