With the AAU basketball season in full swing, here are the top organizations locally and statewide in our new AAU Squad of the Week Series.
YOUTH LEVEL - NOVA VILLAGE
Team Location - Columbus
Social Media - @novavillage
After falling in the national T3TV event in March, Nova Village has won 3 straight tournaments that they have competed in. Blake Kern, a 5th grader, is one of the top players in his class in Ohio and leads the team. Nova Village are ranked in the top 50 Nationally.
Nova Village also has a youth girls team that could be on the rise in a couple of years.
Lead by Head Coach Kyle Kern, a former college hooper, "The Village" have been unstoppable of late. Can they keep up the championship streak this weekend?
"We're very proud of what we have done so far, but we have the Under Armour circuit coming up, and we need to be prepared for that." Coach Kern stated.
HIGH SCHOOL - FUTURE PROSPECTS
Team Location - Dayton
Social Media - @FutureProspects
Future Prospects have won the last two events they have entered, and have had a very good start to the early AAU season.
Ran and directed by former D-1 hooper and City League legend Adrian "Spanky" Parks and coached by high school legend Tracy Miller, the Future Prospects are making major noise on the national circuit.
Some of the former Future Prospects include Wes Enis (South Florida), Prophet Johnson (Sacramento St) and Mehki Elmore (Findlay), who are all thriving in college.
Future Prospects became a National Prep Organization this season, and had a good season to boot. They also have youth programs as well.
"We're excited in what we have done so far. Fellas are stepping up their game. We got a lot more to go. We want to have a great AAU season." Parks stated.
Congratulations and good luck to both programs throughout the AAU Season.
