Detroit Native, Dunbar Legend From 87 Title Team To Be Featured on 50 Years of Dayton Hoops

By Deon Cash

One of the most underrated players and ambassadors in Dunbar Wolverine history will talk 50 Years of Dayton Hoops today on ABC (11am ET).

Renaldo O'Neal, a swiss army knife style of a hooper with the Detroit mentality, will be featured on the popular series today.

O'Neal was a integral part of that 87 team that won the OHSAA State Title, which included the likes of high school superstars such as Mark Baker (OSU), Kirk Taylor (Michigan) and Mike Haley (Wright State).

O'Neal will talk about that team, along with the incredible story of how he met his future state teammates.

O'Neal will also talk about some of the great players and teams that have graced the Dunbar Wolverine courts over the years, as he was a coach during the Wolverines state title runs in the 2000s and 2010s.

He gives some interesting takes on Haley, his style, and how it affected him as a player and a coach. The full Podcast will be available next week on Spotify and Youtube.

O'Neal is currently the Principal at Horizon Science Academy in Dayton, Ohio.

Check out O'Neal today at 11am on 50 Years of Dayton Hoops on ABC.
