 Fever Go 1-1 on Weekend Stand; Boston Career Night Lifts Indy vs ATL; Face Aces Next 2 Games

The Indiana Fever went 1-1 after a 2-game weekend home stand as they faced the Minnesota Lynx and the Atlanta Dream recently. 

Here's what happened during the last weekend in those games. 

(FRIDAY NIGHT)

MINNESOTA STOPS FEVER WINNING STREAK, WIN 99-88

The Indiana Fever came into the game 18-16 and riding a real wave. They were arguably the hottest team since the All-Star break, riding a 5-game winning streak and having won 8 of their last 10.

They would come out swinging with a very good 1st quarter, taking a double digit lead (29-17). 

However, Minnesota used its WMVP candidate and kept the Fever off balance in the 2nd half to power from a halftime deficit and take control in the 3rd quarter. 

Behind the play of Napheesaa Collier the Lynx would regain control, and once the game was in the balance, Bridget Carleton would hit 3 3-point bombs to send the Lynx to the win 99-88.

Caitlin Clark led the Fever with 25, while Mitchell had another 20-point game in the loss.

The Fever hit just 3 shots in the 3rd, which completely changed the momentum and vibe of the game.

(SUNDAY) 

FEVER BOUNCE BACK, HOLD OFF ATL IN O.T. AS BOSTON HAS CAREER NIGHT

The Indiana Fever was able to sweep another opponent this season as they took out the Atlanta Dream in overtime and immediately bounced back after a tough loss.

In a game that was physical and intense from the start, the Dream and Fever went back and forth until the 3rd quarter when the Dream rolled out to a 16-point lead.

The Fever would respond with a run of it's own to cut it under 10, before another run to put the game in the balance before the 4th quarter even started. 

Rhyne Howard was unstoppable, dropping 30+ for her 4th straight game, reaching a career high (36) in the process.  

But it was Aliyah Boston night, as she carried the Fever to overtime with her putback layup, then dropped a couple more buckets in OT to help seal the deal as she scored 30 points with 13 rebounds in a huge win to keep the Fever over .500 (19-17).

Caitlin Clark also had another double double with a 26 point-12 assist night, while Kelsey Mitchell had another 20-point outing (21). Lexie Hull also provided a spark with a 12-point night as the Fever won 104-100. 

The win keeps the Fever firmly in the #6 spot in the WNBA Playoff Standings. 

UP NEXT: HOME SERIES W LAS VEGAS ACES

THE Indiana Fever will host the Las Vegas Aces this week, as they look to keep playing playoff basketball against the back to back WNBA Champions. 

While one is excited for the backcourt duel, the bigger question will be how long will 2-Time MVP Aja Wilson, who is nursing a foot injury, will be out. She was in a boot this weekend. The odds dramatically shift is Wilson is out.
