IS EASTER TOP 5 IN 2025 CLASS? 

Jerry Easter II, arguably the top prospect in Ohio, had a moment to remember at the infamous EYBL League this last weekend in front of a host of College coaches, NBA scouts, and who's who in South Carolina.  

Easter II, who just committed to prep powerhouse  La Lumiere for his junior year, has been on the circuit with All Ohio Red (17U) as the point guard, led by Quincy Simpson, the Lima HS Head coach.

Easter is in the top 20-25 of all National Ranking publications for his class (Class of 25').  

However, it feels like a slight to Easter and his camp, and after what he did during this circuit, you can see why his camp feels like he's a top-5 player.

The last stop in the nationwide EYBL circuit is in South Carolina for the Peach Jam, which has become the pinnacle for elite level youth hoops. 

Easter did extremely well during the summer session, averaging over 22 ppg throughout the circuit, which took the top HS players to the likes of Atlanta, Dallas, Phoenix, Memphis, and Fort Wayne just to name a few places.  

And this is coming off a 33 ppg season at Emmanuel Christian HS in Toledo, Ohio where he garned Mr Basketball votes as a sophomore.  

While the likes of Cooper Flagg, the Boozer brothers, Kiyan Anthony, Bryce James and most of the top players played in the 16U bracket, Easter played up in the 17U bracket and led All-Ohio to a solid record and showing.

He ranked 2nd in scoring, 5th in steals, shot 45% from the field and chipped in almost 3 dimes and 6 rebounds per game. 

 

But nothing compares to what Easter did in his last game at the Peach Jam.

With Simpson letting the 6'6, powefully built, rising guard go, Easter went off with a performance worthy of national recognition, as he tallied one of, if not the highest total in a game in the entire circuit with the perfromance. 

He tallied 44 points on 19-27 shooting while hauling 4 boards, grabbing 4 steals, and dropping 3 dimes in leading All-Ohio to a big victory over the LIVON squad.

While Easter did shine, he still has some work to do, as he shot just under 30% from 3, and didnt quite have the assist to turnover ratio that other guards had. But one thing was for sure: Easter was one of the elite talents and it was on full display in his final game.

 He also had a 28 point game earlier in the session, but that final game is a statement game moving forward, and it caps off a incredible calendar year for the junior to be, who is headed to La Lumiere soon. 

Easter took a picture with NLE Choppa, one of the up-and-coming artists in Memphis earlier,  after Easter dominated the weekend in the "House Of Blues." 

After this final performance,  look for Easter to shoot up the 2025 rankings into tbe top 10. After seeing what has happened this calendar year, there aren't too many players who can dominate the game the way Easter does in his 25 class.

And remember,  he did this against U17 players, not U16.
