"Eric The Red" Watches As Dragons Show Flair For The Dramatic; Can They Win 4th Straight?

Eric Davis, the 5-tool chamionship Outfielder and Legend of the Cincinnati Reds, has watched a little magic from the Dayton Dragons this week on his scouting visit.

Davis, who now will be watching the High level A Dragons a litte more closely, was on hand to see two great performances by the Dragons offense. However,  when it got into pressure situations, 2 things were very evident:

(1) The fans do make a difference as they have been boisterous

(2) The Dragons came through in the clutch situations repeatedly

With 2 Come from behind wins since the lift for full capacity, its no secret that the Dayton Dragons have lived well off of the crowd. The Great Lakes Loons came near .500  and have given up 8 runs in the final innings of 2 games, lifting the Dragons to a 18-14 record and a sweep of the early portion of the series, which will go throughout the weekend.

Davis,  who resides

Davis was as entertaining off the field in the press room as he was on the field. Davis simply is one of the best 5-Tool outfielders to ever play the game of Major League Baseball.

Davis once stole 40 bases and hit 38 home runs, and was almost the first to ever  do the 40-40 club.

Bear in mind he missed the last 6 weeks due to a injury.

Davis was widely considered one of, if not, the best defensive outfielder in the game.

The Dragons won Game 3 over the Loons 6-3 as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead before getting their 19th win of the season.

When Davis was told he  was a good luck charm and needed a raise he laughed.

"No way man." Davis exclaimed. "These guys just need to learn how to play the game. Im here to help and speed up that process."

And indeed he is, as the Dragons have a swagger they haven't had. Davis has heen helping with some of the players hitting, which has shown immediate dividends.

Expect Davis and other Reds players and scouts to be around the Dragons facilities.

The Dodgers are currently scouting the Loons Dragons series themselves.
