#REZZLIFE FISH DERBY, JUNETEENTH EVENTS DO MAJOR NUMBERS; READIES FOR MONEY TOURNEY THIS WEEKEND

 REZZLIFE FISH DERBY, JUNETEENTH, DO MAJOR NUMBERS;

READIES FOR "WE OUTSIDE" TOURNEY THIS WEEKEND

#RezzLife has had a great calendar month of outdoor sporting events in Fort Wayne, and doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon.

It started with the Fish Derby at the beginning of June, which did great numbers as people from all areas came to Reservoir Park to watch some great ball, enjoy some awesome food, and mingle with the community.

With DJ Hot Rod playing the tunes, MC Legendary & Playboi Gemini Hosting the event, and stars such as Trevion Crews checking out the event? It was a must see TV style event, for sure.

The Fish Derby would have a plethora of teams in the winner-take-all tournament at the Park that was remade at the request by #RezzLife and his team.

"It has been great since it has been re-done. The city has supported us and the players all like playing on the new court. It's good to see the community coming together thru basketball." Torezz Golden, the CEO of #RezzLife said.

With the best hoop talent assembling during the Fish Derby, the park has been on fire since the it was renovated.

The Vision Squad took the trophy home in a competitive and fun family atmostphere. Polo Crews took home the MVP.  With some notable professional ballers at the event, it made for a very competitive vibe.

Then a week or so later came the Juneteenth celebration, where #RezzLife would hold a bbq to celebrate the fast rising and popular holiday. There was hooping as well, but it wasn't as prevalent as at the Fish Derby.

Since the completion of the project in July, Reservoir Park has not looked back, and the Mayor congratulated #RezzLife for being a leader in the community and having a great vision to elevate the park and bring it back to standard.

Last weekend #RezzLife was on the road in Lima, Ohio, as they took a team from Fort Wayne and finished second in the Rec Challenge at the Celebrity All Star Event Hosted by 1ENT Management.

This weekend #RezzLife will host its annual "We Outside" event on Saturday, which will mark a year since the completion of the park.

LOCAL PROSPECTS GET OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY IN NFL AS DANIELS & TAYLOR GET CALL

LOCAL PROSPECTS GET OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY IN NFL AS DANIELS & TAYLOR GET CALL

By Deon Cash

Two local football stars will get a chance to realize their dream as they get historic calls during the NFL Draft 2023 process.

Dallas Daniels Headed To Denver

Dallas Daniels, one of the top WRs at Jackson State and in the HBCU Circuit last year, has been picked up by the Denver Broncos, per the reports.

Daniels played for the likes of Jeff Graham, a former NFL reciever himself, at Trotwood High School and would break records and win a OHSAA Championship.

Daniels would get a scholarship and would go to college, traveling to a few schools before landing with Deion Sanders down in Jackson State, where he was arguably the best WR in the league.

While he wasn’t drafted, as soon as the draft was over, Daniels would get a call from the Broncos organization. Deion Sanders, notably known as “Coach Prime”, would speak on Daniels and a few others from his team and the HBCU circuit.

“There should have been more HBCU players drafted. I’m disappointed in the 31 teams who didn’t see the value in the exceptional talent in the HBCU division, especially on my (Jackson State) team.” Sanders would state after the draft.

Nevertheless, there is great optimism for Daniels, as it feels like he has a great chance to latch on after a lackluster performance by the Broncos last season.

When you watch Daniels, it seems like he could fit that mold of what Russell Wilson needs; a WR who runs great routes, but can also improvise if needed.

Colby Lattimer, a Jefferson grad who played for the Broncos in his NFL career a few years ago, gave Daniels a shout as well.

"Welcome to Denver” Latimer posted on his Social Media. Latimer was the top Reciever in the XFL last season.

Leonard Taylor Heads to Jacksonville

Leonard Taylor, one of the more underrated Tight Ends in the country, got his call from the Jacksonville Jaguars, a team on the rise.

Taylor was a very good player for the Cincinnati Bearcats over his career, and provided great play from that position whether he was blocking or catching. His ability to play in any situation and be a key contributor on that College Football Final Four team two years ago was crucial as well.

Taylor played for former NFL Legend and now Head Coach Maurice Douglas at Springfield High School, where he was a two-sport star there before deciding to head to Cincy to play football.

Taylor would become a factor on the Bearcats football field in his sophomore year. Taylor was a key piece which led the Bearcats to the highest ranking ever under the coaching of Luke Fickell.

Taylor has a great shot of making the team, as he is also tough, and will compete for everything, which he has been taught since a young age and with the elite coaching he got in high school and college.

(Desmond Ridder (L) with Taylor (M) in 2021-22)

Jacksonville is on the rise and having a dual threat TE like Taylor is could be essential to the development of a franchise who just made the NFL Playoffs. Not to mention Taylor is 6'6 250, and has good hands, which is ideal for a NFL team.

Good luck to both kids, who had great careers in high school and college.

Follow Daniels, Taylor, and us on the journey!

Dayton Hoop Legend & Head Coach Tamika Williams-Jeter Bares All After 1st Season With Lady Flyers

Dayton Hoop Legend & Head Coach Tamika Williams-Jeter Bares All After 1st Season With Lady Flyers

Dayton 24-7 Now Sports Podcast Exclusive Interview

“It Was Hard Losing, But It Wasn’t As Hard to Lose This Season. We Were Extremely Young. We Will Be Ready Next Season.”

By Deon Cash

Tamika Williams-Jeter is a winner by every stretch of the word and  imagination.

She won Championship titles in high school, college, the Olympics and the WNBA. She won as a Assistant Coach during all of her tenures. She’s winning with her family, kids, and day to day life as well.

So when she took over as the Head Coach of the Dayton Flyers Women’s Basketball team last season with the most inexperienced team in the A-10? It was a welcome surprise for the Flyer Faithful, despite one of the toughest seasons in her basketball life.

Williams-Jeter bares it all in a riveting and hilarious interview that shows a different side of Williams-Jeter. While she was a bully on the court during her time, she often comes off like that off the court as well, with a intimidating but quiet presence.

After all, Williams-Jeter stands at a towering 6’2. Without heels.

That is, until you meet her and talk to her.

Then you truly start to understand why she is probably the greatest female baller to come out of Dayton, Ohio.

Williams-Jeter talks about the mentally tough first season running the show at UD, and how she and the Flyers were prepared for it. She also talks about the new recruits coming, and how it was emotionally for her in the most losing season of her life.

But the intrigue doesn’t stop there.

Williams-Jeter gives a unbelievable take on the UConn - Ohio State women’s tournament game and how OSU star freshman Cotie McMahon and her mother talked before the game.

She talked about how Geno Auriemma would see things differently in one of the craziest seasons of his career and what he called and said to her.

She talks about the Kaitlyn Clark - Angel Reese story and her take on Clark way before anyone knew who she even was.

What did Tamika Williams-Jeter say about Clark and Reese drama?

She talks LeBron, NBA, Cavs, WNBA, Rylee Sagester, and even cracks jokes throughout the podcast (Dayton24-7Now Sports Podcast).

This shows that Williams-Jeter is in it for the long haul, and that’s good for the Dayton faithful who knew how great she was coming from the gem city.

You can go to the Dayton 24-7 Now Sports Podcast (Episode 7) on Youtube to watch the full interview.
